Sebuah cerita cinta yang terjadi di sebuah desa miskin Indonesia pada pertengahan 1960-an. Rasus (Nyoman Oka Antara), seorang tentara muda menyusuri kampung halamannya, mencari cintanya yang hilang, Srintil (Prisia Nasution).

Cerita berawal ketika keduanya masih sangat muda dan saling jatuh cinta di kampung mereka yang kecil dan miskin, Dukuh Paruk. Tapi kemampuan menari Srintil yang magis menghalangi cinta mereka, karena hal itu membuat para tetua dukuh percaya bahwa Srintil adalah titisan ronggeng. Dan saat Srintil menyiapkan diri untuk tugasnya, ia menyadari bahwa menjadi seorang ronggeng tidak hanya berarti menjadi pilihan dukuhnya di pentas-pentas tari. Srintil akan menjadi milik semua warga Dukuh Paruk. Hal ini menempatkan Rasus pada sebuah dilema. Ia merasa cintanya telah dirampas. Dalam keputusasaan, Rasus meninggalkan dukuhnya untuk menjadi anggota tentara.
